Batch tasks (form)

Use this form to view or create tasks for a batch job. You can also view or create dependencies between batch tasks.

Note

You cannot change task information while the associated job is running or waiting to be run. You must change the batch status to Withhold before changing task information.

Create a batch job

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form. Depending on where you opened the form from, some controls may not be available.

View a list of all batch tasks.

View and edit extended information about the selected batch task.

View the latest information about the selected batch task.

Parameters

Open a form where you can set parameters for the task.

Log

View the batch log, which contains messages generated when the task was run.

Refresh

Refresh the information in the form.

Lower pane

Description

Condition type

Type of dependency between the selected task and its parent tasks.

  • Select All if all conditions must be met before moving on to the dependent task.

  • Select Any if any of the conditions can be met before moving on to the dependent task.

Go to the task that the selected task depends on.

Status

The status of the batch task.

Task description

Enter a description for the task.

Company accounts

Specify the company in which the task will run.

Class name

Select an application object for the task.

Class description

The description of the application object you selected.

Has conditions

Indicates whether the task depends on other tasks.

Run location

Indicates whether the batch runs on the client or the server.

Batch group

The batch group to which this task belongs.

Progress

Indicates the percentage of the task that is finished.

Start date/time

Date and time that the task last started.

End date/time

Date and time that the task last ended.

Status

Actual status of the task.

Automatically start transaction

Indicates whether the task should be started automatically.

Runtime task

A developer-created task that runs only for a certain instance of a batch job.

Batch job ID

ID of the batch job that this task is a part of.

Ignore task failure

Select to ignore this task's status when you are determining whether the batch job failed.

Maximum retries

Number of times to retry running the task before failing.

AOS instance name

Identification for the batch server, in the format Instance@ServerName.

Private

Indicates whether the job can be run only by the person who created it. This option can be used only for tasks that run on the client. Server tasks cannot be private.

Created by

User who ordered the batch.

Created date and time

Date and time when the task was created.

Actual retries

Number of times the task was retried.

Exception type

Type of error encountered when you run the task (if any).

System identifier of the task.

Expected status

Expected status of the task.

Actual status

Actual status of the task.
