Click Inventory management > Setup > Shipping carrier > Carrier role users.

Use this form to specify the users and their associated network domains that will be assigned to the ShipCarrierRole role. Users in this role must be users who can log on to the shipping carrier software, even if those users might not need access to Microsoft Dynamics AX otherwise. As orders are processed and information is entered in the shipping carrier software, that software reads data from, and writes it to, specific Microsoft Dynamics AX tables. This shipping carrier role helps ensure the security of the Microsoft Dynamics AX data during that process.

Before these permissions are activated, the database administrator must run the MaintainShipCarrierRole stored procedure in the Microsoft Dynamics AX database. The stored procedure assigns the shipping carrier role to the users whose network aliases are entered in this form.

For more information about the stored procedure and other information related to shipping carriers in Microsoft Dynamics AX, see the Shipping Carrier Interface white paper on the Web.
