Click General ledger > Setup > Chart of accounts > Ledger account alias.

Use this form to create or update ledger account aliases. You can use ledger account aliases to provide a shortcut to a complete or partial account number.

Set up a ledger account alias

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Ledger account alias

Enter a unique name for the ledger account alias.

Type

Select the type of ledger account alias.

  • Shared – The ledger account alias will be available for all legal entities.

  • User group – The ledger account alias will be available for the user group that you select in the Group field.

  • User – The ledger account alias will be available for the user that you select in the User ID field.

User group / user

The user group or user that the selected ledger account alias is available for.

Group

Select the user group that the ledger account alias will be available for.

This field is available only when you select User group in the Type field.

User ID

Select the user that the selected ledger account alias will be available for.

This field is available only when you select User in the Type field.

Account structure

Select the account structure for the ledger account alias.

Legal entities

Select the legal entity to use financial dimensions from.

Ledger account alias definition

Select the values that will be displayed when the ledger account alias is entered in a ledger account field.

Initial focus

Select the financial dimension that will be selected when you enter this ledger account alias for a ledger account.
