User group budget permissions (form)

Click Budgeting > Setup > Budget control > Budget control configuration. Click Define budget control rules, and then click User group budget permissions.

Use this form to set up user group permissions for budget control rules. You can also allow or prevent budget checking for budget groups when budget funds are not available.

For the budget control rule, copy and edit specific user group budget permissions to override the current user group budget permissions.

Group

The identifier for the user group.

User group name

The name of the user group.

Over budget options

Select the over budget options for the members of the selected user group.

  • Prevent over budget processing – Users in this group cannot process a transaction if the available budget balance is insufficient to cover the transaction.

  • Allow over budget processing – Users in this group can process a transaction if the available budget balance is insufficient to cover the transaction.

  • Prevent processing at over budget threshold – Users in this group cannot process a transaction if the account will exceed its specified threshold to cover the transaction.

    For example, if the threshold is set to 80 percent, and the transaction that is being posted will update the account to use 95 percent of the budget, you can prevent users from posting the transaction.

Overbudget option for budget group check

Select the type of budget group checking that users in this group can perform when budget funds are not available.

  • Perform budget group check when budget funds are not available – Users in this group can perform budget checking for a budget group when budget funds are not available.

  • Prevent budget group check when budget funds are not available – Users in this group are prevented from performing budget checking for a budget group when budget funds are not available.
