Click System administration > Setup > System > Cluster configuration.

Use this form to set up and configure Microsoft Dynamics AX Application Object Server (AOS) load-balancing clusters. Before you make any changes to this form, read Create a load balancing cluster to understand the process for setting up and configuring Microsoft Dynamics AX clusters.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Load balancer

Designate AOS as a load balancer. If you select this option, the load-balancer AOS instance is dedicated to distributing the user load. The AOS instance will not process Microsoft Dynamics AX business logic or data. A cluster that contains a load-balancer AOS instance must also contain at least one AOS instance that is not a load balancer.

Caution noteCaution

If you select this option, you must set client configurations to connect to the load-balancer AOS instance. You can then add and remove other AOS instances from the cluster without updating client configurations.

Cluster name

Enter a name for the cluster.

AOS instances count

The number of AOS instances in the cluster. You add instances to a cluster by using the Cluster name field in the Map AOS instances to clusters section.

Cluster description

If the cluster is serving a particular function, such as Enterprise Portal or batch processing, enter a description of the function.

AOS instance name

The name of the AOS instance.

Max concurrent sessions

The default value is 2000. The upper limit of concurrent sessions depends on hardware limitations.

Cluster ID

The system-generated ID for this cluster.
