Elimination proposal (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click General ledger > Journals > Elimination. Create a new journal and then click Lines. Click Proposals > Elimination proposal.

Use this form to create proposed elimination transactions. You can process an elimination proposal multiple times to add additional elimination rules to a single journal. For more information, see Elimination rules for transactions.

Note

We recommend that you use Management Reporter for Microsoft Dynamics AX to combine the financial results for multiple legal entities in a consolidated format. Management Reporter lets you create consolidated financial reports across legal entities, use Microsoft Excel to import consolidation data from other sources, and translate amounts into any number of reporting currencies without having to run the consolidation process in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Fields

Field

Description

Source company

Select the source company that the elimination amounts will be retrieved from.

Rule

Select an active elimination rule to use for processing transactions.

Description

The description of the elimination rule.

Date last run

The date that the elimination rule was most recently processed and distributions were successfully created.

Period

Enter a date to begin retrieving amounts to be eliminated. Transactions from this date through the To date will be included if they match the elimination rule.

GL posting date

The date that the elimination journal is posted to the general ledger.

To

Enter a date to stop retrieving amounts to be eliminated. Transactions from the Period date through this date will be included if they match the elimination rule.

Release date

To put the transaction on hold until a specified date, enter that date. You still can modify the transaction, and it can be posted on or after this date.

If this field is blank, the transaction can be posted at any time.

Note

You can clear this field to remove the hold.

Reason code

Select the reason for the transaction.

Reasons with an account type of Ledger appear in the list. For more information, see About financial reason codes.

Reason comment

Enter a reason description (optional).

If you select a reason code before you enter a reason comment, the default comment that is set up for the reason code is displayed. You still can change the comment.
