Updated: February 15, 2011

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Organization administration > Setup > Organization > Teams. Select a team and then click Team types.

Use this form to maintain the list of team types that you can associate with teams. All teams must be associated with a team type. The team type that is associated with a team determines which types of people can be added as members to that team.

Set up team types

You want to create teams of people who can process collection items. You already have two teams created: Team1 and Team2. Both teams are assigned to the Collections team type. Both employees and contractors can be members of teams with a team type of Collections. You want Team1 to allow only employees to be members, but you want Team2 to allow both employees and contractors to be members. To accomplish this, complete the followings steps:

  1. Use the Team types form to create a new team type titled Collections-EmployeesOnly.

  2. In the Restrict membership to include section, select only the Worker option, but do not select Contractor, Contacts, Vendor, and Customer.

  3. Next, use the Teams form to change the team type of Team1 to be Collections-EmployeesOnly.

Team1 membership is now restricted to employees only, and Team2 still allows both employees and contractors to be members.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.
