Business rules for fixed asset determination (form) [AX 2012]

Updated: April 22, 2011

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Procurement and sourcing > Setup > Fixed assets > Business rules for fixed assets determination.

Use this form to create rules so that certain purchases must be treated as fixed assets if the purchase price of the item exceeds a monetary threshold. The monetary threshold for a legal entity can differ from the monetary threshold for your organization.

Your category manager must create procurement categories before you can assign a fixed asset rule to them. For more information about procurement categories, see About category hierarchies.

You must create organization-wide fixed asset identifiers, and then map them to the fixed asset groups for each legal entity before you can create organization-wide business rules for fixed assets. For more information about organization-wide fixed asset identifiers, see Organization-wide fixed asset identifiers (form).

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Procurement categories

Click New to create a new rule. Select one or more procurement categories to which this rule applies. The rule automatically applies to all the subcategories of the selected procurement category. You can define a rule for a subcategory that overrides the rule from the parent category.

Caution noteCaution

A procurement category can be associated with only one organization-wide fixed asset rule.

Create or view fixed asset rules for your whole organization.

Legal entity-specific rule

Create a legal entity-specific rule if the threshold or fixed asset groups for a legal entity differ from an organization-wide rule.
