Manage your category assignments

A customer can use procurement categories to classify the items and services that the customer purchases from you. When you are approved as a vendor for a customer, you are also approved to provide items and services only in specific procurement categories.

You can view procurement categories that are assigned to you in the Vendor portal. You can also submit a request to be assigned to additional procurement categories on the Vendor portal. You might need to complete a questionnaire about your ability to meet procurement category requirements.

View your category assignments

  1. On the Home page, on the Quick Launch, click Profile.

  2. On the Edit profile page, expand the Category information FastTab.

  3. On the Category information FastTab, you can view procurement categories assigned to you, your status in a category, and the period in which you are authorized to provide products in a category.

    Note

    You cannot add procurement categories to your profile. You must request to add category assignments on the Category requests page of the Vendor portal.

Request to add procurement categories

  1. On the Home page, on the Quick Launch, click Category requests.

  2. On the Action Pane, in the New group, click Category request.

  3. On the Category request page, select the additional procurement categories in which you want to provide products, and then click Add.

  4. Click the Remove button to delete a selected category from the request list.

  5. To save your selections and return to the Category requests list page, click OK.

  6. Complete any questionnaires for a category. For more information about questionnaires, see View and respond to questionnaires.

  7. On the workflow message bar, click Action, and then click Submit.

    The customer will notify you when your request has been processed. You can view the status of a request in the Category requests list.

Delete a procurement category from your profile

  1. On the Home page, on the Quick Launch, click Profile.

  2. On the Edit profile page, on the Category information FastTab, you can view the procurement categories assigned to you.

  3. On the Edit profile page, on the Action Pane, click Edit.

  4. On the Category information FastTab, select the category that you want to delete.

  5. Click Remove, and then click Save and close. The customer’s manager for the procurement category is notified of the change.
