The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.
Tab |
Description |
---|---|
Overview |
View a list of formulas, or select a formula to view its related versions or perform additional functions using the buttons on this form. |
Configuration route |
Determine the sequence in which a configuration group is to be selected. To arrange the confirmation groups in the appropriate sequence, select a configuration group and use the Up and Down buttons. By defining a configuration route, you can control the sequence in which selections are made and therefore create a more logical selection sequence. |

Approve formula |
Approve or reverse approval of a formula. |
Configuration rules |
Open the Configuration rules form to set up configuration rules for the current formula. |
Designer |
Open the Formula designer form to design formula tree structures or work with formula versions, items, and sub-formulas. For more information, see About formula designer functionality. |

Open the Approve version dialog box and select the employee approving the formula version. You also use this button to remove approval from a formula version. |
Activation |
Activate the approved formula version. When you activate the formula version, the Active check box is selected automatically. You can deactivate the formula version, by clicking the Activation button again. When you deactivate a formula version, the Active check box is cleared. Note The From date and To date interval for this formula version cannot overlap the From date and To date interval of another formula version for this formula. |
Send BOM documents |
Open the Send documents form to define the endpoint to which the documents are sent electronically. |
Co-products |
Open the Co products form to create a related co-product for the selected formula. |
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Formula |
The identification for the formula. |
Name |
View or enter the formula name, which is also used as a name for the version. |
Site |
The site associated with the formula. |
Item group |
The identification for the item group to which this formula item is assigned. You set up item groups in Inventory and warehouse management. |
(Formula) Approved by |
The person who approved the formula version. |
(Formula) Approved |
If selected, the formula has been approved. Otherwise, it is pending approval. You can approve formulas using the Approve formula button. The formula must be approved for it to be active. |
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Item number |
The item identification for the formula version |
From date |
Select the effective start date for the formula. |
To date |
Select the effective date on which this formula ends. |
CW size |
If the item is a catch weight item, view or enter the size of the formula version according to the catch weight unit. |
From CW size |
If the item is a catch weight item, view or enter the minimum quantity in the catch weight unit that is valid for this formula version. When generating orders, the formula version is selected automatically based on this and other criteria that you specify. If left blank, this formula version is valid for all quantities. |
CW unit |
If the item is a catch weight item, view or enter the catch weight unit of measure for the item. |
Formula size |
View or enter the size of the formula version. |
From formula size |
Enter the minimum quantity that is valid for this formula version. When generating orders, the program automatically selects a formula version, which is based on this and other criteria that you specify. If left blank, this formula version is valid for all quantities. |
UOM of formula |
The unit of measure used for the formula. |
Yield |
View or enter the yield for the formula line item, which must be a value that is larger than zero. The yield value is used to calculate the estimated output quantity for the formula item. |
Formula multiple |
The default quantity in which the item is produced for this formula version. In requirement calculations, the value is incremented by the formula multiple to meet the requirement. The value of a manually created batch order is validated against the formula multiple for the formula version selected to make sure that the quantity is a whole increment. |
Bulk item |
The identification for a bulk (or parent) formula item. A bulk item is the source of the primary ingredient that is used in the production of the packed (child) item. In order for the bulk item to be selected for a formula version of a packed item, a Bulk Item conversion record must first exist. |
Co-product variations |
Select to allow for variations in co-products or by-products before you report a batch order as finished. You can add new co-products or by-products, and you can over-report the good quantities of any that are already included. |
Total cost allocation |
If selected, the formula will be dynamically calculated based on the quantity reported as finished for a co-product item using dollarized weighting. This option is only available for co-products. For more information, see About the methodology for total cost allocation. |
Use for calculation |
If selected, the formula line is used in formula calculations, which determine the cost price and sales prices for the formula based on profit settings. Formula calculations give the estimated prices on all formula levels. Therefore, the contribution of a single item or operation to the price of the formula level can be determined. This is added to the contribution of all items and operations on a specific level. The calculations also provide an overview of summarized costs for cost groups. This provides the contribution of a cost group on a particular formula level. |
Formula change date |
The date on which the formula was last changed. |
Active |
If selected, the formula is active, which means that it is used in Master Planning and is the default formula used in production batches. |
(Version) Approved by |
The employee approving the formula version. |
(Version) Approved |
If selected, the formula version has been approved. You can approve formula versions using the Approve button in the lower pane of the form. The formula version must be approved to be active. |
