Create new contact (form) [AX 2012]

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Sales and marketing > Common > Contacts > All contacts. On the Action Pane, on the Contact tab, in the New group, click Contact.

Use this form to create a new contact record.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Button

Description

Save and close

Save the record information that you entered and close the form.

Save and open

Save the record information that you entered and open the Contacts form to add more information about the contact.

Field

Description

Contact ID

The unique identifier that is assigned to the contact record.

Contact for

Select the party that this contact is the contact for.

Job title

Select the job title of the contact.

Function

Select the job function of the contact. For example, project management or sales.

Profession

Enter the profession of the contact. For example, computer hardware manufacturing or education.

Department

Enter the department that the contact works in. For example, marketing.
