Get DPM Server Capacity

Applies To: System Center 2012 - Orchestrator, System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator, System Center 2012 SP1 - Orchestrator

The Get DPM Server Capacity activity is used to configure a policy that queries a Data Protection Manager server for its available free storage capacity. This information helps you determine the placement of backup data.

The Data Protection Manager server's storage pool returns capacity information in raw gigabytes (GB). This data requires additional calculation using foundation library activities to perform real-world capacity checks. Typically, Data Protection Manager needs two to three times the storage space used by the primary data.

For the procedure to configure this object, see: Configuring the Get DPM Server Capacity Activity.

The following tables list the properties and published data for this activity. The activity publishes all the data from the required and optional properties into published data.
