Get VM

The Get VM activity is used to retrieve an existing VM based on the filters you specify.

For the procedure to configure this activity, see Configuring the Get VM Activity.

The following tables list the properties and published data for this activity. The activity publishes all of the data from the required and optional properties into published data.

A two-digit percent value of CPU resources that are set aside for the host operating system to use

CPU Utilization (%)

A two-digit percent value that represents the CPU utilization threshold that will trigger a monitor for the virtual machine

Creation Source

The name of the source that was used to create the virtual machine; for example, the name of another virtual machine, a VHD name, or Unknown

Creation Time

The date and time that the virtual machine was created in the format mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss AM or PM

Custom Priority

A two-digit value to describe the priority of the virtual machine

The status of the virtual machine. Configuring the Get VM Activity

To configure the Get VM activity

  1. From the Activities window, drag a Get VM activity to the active runbook window. Double-click the Get VM activity icon.

  2. Click the Filters tab.

  3. In the Configuration section, click the ellipsis button (...), and select the Name of the virtual machine computer that you want to connect to with this activity. Click OK. The properties required to define this activity are displayed in the Properties section.

  4. In the Filters section, at least one filter is required to define the activity. Click Add. In the Name box, click the down arrow and select an item from the list.

  5. In the Relation box, click the down arrow and select a relationship descriptor for the filter.

  6. In the Value box, click the ellipsis button (...) and select a value to be applied to this filter. If the ellipsis button (...) does not appear for the filter you have selected, enter the value you want to use. Click OK.

  7. Add additional filters as needed, and then click Finish.

  8. To make changes to a filter, click the filter and then click Edit. Make the necessary changes, and then click OK. To remove a filter, click the filter and then click Remove.

  10. Click Finish.
