Released product variants (form)

Click Product information management > Common > Released products. Select a product master, and, on the Action Pane, in the Product master group, select Released product variants.

Use this form to view and create released product variants for a product master.

Note

The product variants that can be created for a product master are determined by the following:

  • The product dimensions that are specified for the product master.

  • Whether variants that are based on the product master can have identical configurations.

Generation of product variants upon creation of new product dimensions

For product masters with the configuration technology Dimension-based configuration new product variants can be generated when new dimensions are specified for the product master. To generate new product variants upon the creation of product dimensions, select the Allow identical configurations check box for the product master in the Product details form. For more information, see “Define a product master” in the Key tasks: Define products topic.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Delete the selected product variant.

Note

If a variant has transactions, it cannot be deleted.

Variant suggestions

View the variants that can be created for the product master and create the variants.

Tip

The variant suggestions on the list are based on all the combinations of product dimensions that exist for the product master.

Product image

Associate a product image with the product variant.

Translations

Create or update product texts in different languages.

Forecasting

Open a menu that contains the following items:

  • Demand forecast – Create and view demand forecast lines.

  • Supply forecast – Create and view supply forecast lines for products, item groups, vendor accounts, and vendor groups.

  • Inventory forecast – View the projected inventory transactions and balances for the selected supply forecast or demand forecast line.

  • On-hand – View the on-hand inventory for the product.

  • Price – Create or update the product cost and the product price.

  • External codes – Maintain external codes for different fields that are used to send and receive documents electronically through Application Integration Framework (AIF).

  • Attachments – View and attach notes and documents to the product.

Description

Product name

View or change the name of product variants. The name of a product variant is derived from the name of the product.

Description

Enter a description for the product variants.

Configuration, Size, Color

The product dimensions that appear in this form are the product dimensions that are defined for the product master of the variant.
