Mass update worksheet (form)

Click Retail > Periodic > Mass update worksheet.

Use this form to update the product details for multiple products at the same time. You can modify the product data for individual products. Alternatively, you can enter product data at the level of the product category and then apply your changes to all products that are assigned to the category.

Products

View the list of products that you want to modify properties for. The fields that appear on this FastTab vary, depending on the product properties that you select to update when you create a new worksheet.

Description

New

Create a new worksheet. When you click this button, the Select properties form is displayed, where you can select the product properties to update. The list of product properties is generated dynamically, based on the product definition.

Validate

Validate the proposed changes. Any errors are displayed in an Infolog.

Post

Start the posting batch job to post the product changes. Worksheets that are pending or that have been posted cannot be modified.

Add products

Open the Add products form, where you can add the products to modify properties for.

Paste first row

Copy the properties that you enter or select in the first row to all rows in the worksheet. You can copy all properties, or you can select specific properties to copy.

Apply price formula

Use a formula to enter values in price fields.

For example, to reduce the sales price of all the products that you have added to the Products FastTab by 50 percent, create and apply this formula:

purchase price * .50

Note

This control is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 or AX 2012 R3 is installed.

Apply date formula

Use a formula to enter values in date fields.

For example, to change the sales date of all the products that you have added to the Products FastTab to 30 days from the current date, create and apply this formula:

date of sales price + 30

Description

Worksheet number

The unique identifier of the worksheet. This number is automatically generated.

Status

The status of the worksheet. The following values are used:

  • Open – The worksheet has been created, and you can add products and select the values to update.

  • Validated – The proposed changes have been validated. If you make any changes after the worksheet has been validated, you must revalidate the worksheet before you can post it.

  • Pending – The worksheet has been submitted for posting, but the posting batch job is not yet completed.

  • Posted – The worksheet has been posted, the posting batch job is completed, and the products in the worksheet have been updated.

Date/time posted

The date and time that the worksheet was successfully posted.

Item number

The unique identifier that is assigned to the product that is being modified.

Product name

The name of the product that is being modified.
