Analysis servers (form)

Click System administration > Setup > Business intelligence > Analysis Services > Analysis servers.
Use this form to manage the Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services servers and databases that are integrated with Microsoft Dynamics AX.
Note
To view all the information that is available in this form, you must be assigned to the server administrator role in Analysis Services. For information about how to assign users to this role, see Grant Server Administrator Permissions (Analysis Services) in the SQL Server documentation.

Navigating the form
The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

OLAP servers |
Enter or view the names of the servers that run Analysis Services. |
OLAP databases |
View the names of the Analysis Services databases for the selected server. This tab lists only the databases that have been deployed by using the Analysis Services Project Wizard or Windows PowerShell scripts. |

Record events in a log file when you run the Analysis Services Project Wizard or use Windows PowerShell to manage Analysis Services projects and cubes. |

Partition key |

OLAP server name |
Enter the name of the server that runs Analysis Services. |
Description |
Enter a description of the server that runs Analysis Services. |

Follow the directions that apply to the Microsoft Dynamics AX version that you are using:

Database name |
The names of the Analysis Services databases for the selected server. |
Default (OLAP databases tab) |
Select a default Analysis Services database. Key performance indicators (KPIs) are retrieved from the default database. |
Enable logging |
Select this check box to record events in a log file when you perform the following tasks:

Browse to the location where you want to save the log file. |
