Click Human resources > Common > Workers > Workers. On the Action Pane, on the Compensation tab, click Variable plan enrollment.

Use this form to enroll employees in a variable compensation plan.

You can also use this form to create exceptions to variable compensation plan elements or parameters in order to calculate compensation awards differently for an individual employee than other employees who are covered by the same plan.

NoteNote

Variable compensation depends on the compensation level that is specified for a job, and an employee must be working in an active position in order to receive a variable compensation award.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Field

Description

Plan

Select the variable compensation plan to enroll the employee in.

Effective date

The date when the variable compensation information is effective.

Expiration date

The date when the variable compensation information is no longer effective.

Status

Enter the status of the employee's variable compensation enrollment status.

Hire rule date

Enter a hire rule date to override the date of the employee's enrollment in the variable plan.

If the Hire rule on the variable plan is Percent, the award period is based on the period from the date of enrollment in the plan and until the end of the compensation cycle.

Award percent

Enter an award percentage to override the information in a variable compensation plan.

The new award amount is a percentage of the amount that is calculated through an event process.

Award amount

Enter an award amount to override the information in a variable compensation plan. This award amount becomes the final guideline award and is not affected by any other event process calculations.

Organizational overrides

Enter one or more departments that an employee is associated with. The department information overrides information about the department that the employee works in, which is determined by the position that the employee is assigned to.

The performance of each department that you list helps determine the employee's guideline award.

Percent

The percentage of the total award that is derived from the current organization's performance. The total for the listed organizational units must equal 100 percent.

Financial dimensions

The financial dimensions that were set up in the Financial dimensions form.

Where the %1 dimension is used

The account structures and advanced rule structures that use the financial dimensions that you selected in the Financial dimensions or Default financial dimensions field group.

NoteNote

The name of the field depends on the selection in the Financial dimensions or Default financial dimensions field group.
