Uninstall or repair Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook

Applies To: CRM 2015 on-prem, CRM Online

noteNote
If an uninstallation is not completed while you are logged on to the client computer as the user who originally installed the application, the offline database will remain attached to the instance of Microsoft SQL Server Express. After the uninstall is complete, you can manually detach the offline database.

When you uninstall CRM for Outlook, the program files are removed and the application is no longer available. Instead of uninstall, you can disable CRM for Outlook. To disable, start Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 Diagnostics. On the Advanced Troubleshooting tab, choose Disable, and then choose Save. Later, you can enable CRM for Outlook by following the same procedure.

If other users run CRM for Outlook on the same device, those users should sign out of Microsoft Windows before uninstalling CRM for Outlook. This is especially true for Citrix or Remote Desktop environments where additional sessions are common and should be closed before uninstalling CRM for Outlook.
