What's New for Protecting Exchange Server 2010

Applies To: System Center 2012 - Data Protection Manager

System Center 2012 – Data Protection Manager (DPM) supports protection and recovery of Exchange Server 2010, including the following:

  • Protection of a stand-alone Exchange Server 2010 server

  • Protection of databases under a database availability group (DAG)

The procedures to protect and recover Exchange Server 2010 are similar to those required to protect and recover Exchange Server 2007. However, unlike Exchange Server 2007, Exchange Server 2010 does not contain storage groups. Instead the databases are grouped in the DAG. DPM protects databases contained in a DAG.
