Apply updates on the DPM server

It’s important to keep DPM servers and protected computers up-to-date. You can use your preferred method for deploying updates, but note the following:

• DPM updates are available through Microsoft Update. Microsoft Update delivers updates from the Microsoft Update Catalog, which is a repository for Microsoft software updates that address security and reliability issues. The Microsoft Update service queries the Microsoft Update Catalog to determine what updates are available for the computer on which Microsoft Update is installed. You can subscribe to Microsoft Update at any time on the Microsoft Update Web site.

• Some updates require a computer restart. Schedule these at times that least impact protection operations.
