Explanation
This error can occur if the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) hardware provider fails to take a snapshot on the host computer that is running Hyper-V.
Some VSS hardware providers require credentials to connect to a storage area network (SAN) to take a hardware snapshot.
User Action
To resolve this error, ensure that the Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) credentials needed to create hardware snapshots are correctly configured on the host computer that is running Hyper-V.
