Supported Configurations

This monitoring pack requires System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 or later. A dedicated Operations Manager management group is not required.

This monitoring pack supports all configurations of System Center 2012 - App Controller that are described in the System Requirements for App Controller. This includes clustered SQL Server and App Controller servers installed behind a Network Load Balancer (NLB).

This monitoring pack requires the SQL Server 2008 management pack for monitoring the App Controller database and the Windows Internet Information Services (IIS) 7 management pack for monitoring the App Controller website.

Before You Import the Monitoring Pack

The following requirements must be met to run this monitoring pack:

  • Microsoft SQL Server Discovery Management Pack must be installed for this monitoring pack to discover the database used by App Controller.

  • Windows Server Internet Information Services 7 Management Pack to monitor the Internet Information Services environment used by App Controller.

As a best practice, you should import the following monitoring packs:

  • Windows Server Management Pack for the operating system you are using. The Windows Server Management Packs monitor aspects of the operating system that influence the performance of computers running App Controller, such as disk capacity, disk performance, memory utilization, network adapter utilization, and processor performance.

  • Monitoring Pack for System Center 2012 – Virtual Machine Manager to monitor the Virtual Machine Manager management servers to which App Controller connects.
