Join a Connector Space Object to a Metaverse Object

For this procedure, in Joiner, you can join a disconnector object in a connector space to a metaverse object in the metaverse. By doing this, you enable attribute flow between the connector space object and the joined metaverse object. If configured in a management agent join rule, Microsoft® Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) 2010 R2 automatically attempts to join a connector space object to a metaverse object. If a join cannot be made automatically, you can manually configure a join. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the FIMSyncJoiners security group or the FIMSyncAdmins security group .

To join a connector space object to a metaverse object

  1. On the Tools menu, click Joiner.

  2. In Joiner, in Management Agent, click the management agent that created the disconnector object that you want to join to a metaverse object.

  3. In Disconnector Type, do one of the following:

    • To search for all disconnector objects regardless of their type, click All Disconnectors Types.

    • To search for disconnector objects that can be joined or projected by rules, click Disconnectors.

    • To search for disconnector objects that cannot be joined or projected by rules, click Explicit Disconnectors.

    • To search for disconnector objects in the connector space that contain a set of rules that prevents them from being automatically projected or joined to corresponding metaverse objects, click Filtered Disconnectors.

  4. Click Search.

  5. In Disconnectors, click the disconnector object that you want to join to a metaverse object.

  6. In Metaverse Search Results, click a metaverse object, or to search for an object, do any of the following:
