Confirm Fixed-Width Text File Format

For this procedure, in Management Agent Designer, on the Confirm Fixed-Width Text Format page, Management Agent Designer automatically detects the format of the fixed-width template input file that you select. If Management Agent Designer incorrectly determines the format, you can change it here. This page is displayed only when you create a new management agent. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the FIMSyncAdmins security group.

To confirm fixed-width text file format

  1. On the Confirm Fixed Width Text Format page, verify that the template file contains the correct attributes that you want to synchronize.

  2. To use names in the first row as header names, select the Use first row as header names for input file check box.

  3. To change the width of column, click the column arrow to add or delete a column separator.

Note

The selected fixed-width text template input file cannot contain more than 4096 characters on a single horizontal line, within a single column. This limit does not apply to a fixed-width text custom data input file that you synchronize.

Note

If you do not select the Use first row as header names check box, Management Agent Designer assigns a name to each attribute, which you can edit on the Configure Attributes page.
