View Performance Counters in System Monitor

For this procedure, you can use System Monitor in Windows Server 2008 to view performance information for Microsoft® Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) 2010 R2. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the FIMSyncOperators security group or the FIMSyncAdmins security group.

To view performance counters in System Monitor

  1. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Reliability and Performance Monitor.

  2. Click Performance Monitor, right-click the System Monitor details pane and click Add Counters.

  3. If FIM is on a different computer from where you are running Performance console, click Browse and specify a computer name.

  4. In Available counters, click a counter and then in Instances of selected object: select the FIMSynchronizationServices instance.

  5. Click Add, and then click OK.

Note

If you select an object on a remote computer, you might notice a short delay as Reliability and Performance Monitor refreshes the list to reflect objects present on that computer.
