First Run Wizard and Welcome Page Options

Introduction

Depending on which operating system you chose on the Platform Selection page of the Internet Explorer Customization Wizard 10, Internet Explorer® 10 displays a first run page when a user first starts the browser.

  • Windows 7 If you are building a customized package for Windows 7, on this page of the Internet Explorer Customization Wizard 10, you can disable the default first run page, and specify whether you want to display a custom welcome page after the first run page. If you do not customize the settings on this page of the wizard, the first time your users open Internet Explorer, they will see the first run page.

  • Windows 8 Internet Explorer® 10 on Windows 8 does not have a Welcome page. If you use either of these settings:

    • Use Internet Explorer 10 Welcome Page

    • Use a custom welcome page (specify URL below)

IEAK creates an initial home page which loads before all other home pages as the first tab. This only applies to Internet Explorer for the desktop.
