Create a Basic Version of Internet Explorer

To create a basic version of Internet Explorer 10, use the External version of Internet Explorer Administration Kit 10 (IEAK 10). The External version allows you to create a customized version of Internet Explorer to distribute outside of a corporate environment. IEAK 10 licensing guidelines allow IEAK custom browser packages to be redistributed with or without making customizations to the browser, so you can use this tool to create a basic version without making special customizations. Users of the former Covermount program can use this as a replacement for requesting a basic version of Internet Explorer to redistribute to their customers.

To run the customization wizard and create a basic version of Internet Explorer:

  1. Start the Internet Explorer customization wizard.

  2. On the Platform Selection page, under Target Platform, select the operating system version that the Internet Explorer package will be installed on, and then click Next.

  3. On the Language Selection page, select the language that you want the Internet Explorer package built in, and then click Next.

  4. On the Package Type Selection page, click Full Installation Package.

  5. On the Feature Selection page, click Clear All to clear all customizable options and create a basic version of Internet Explorer.

  6. Click Next to complete the wizard.

You can choose how to distribute the custom package to your customers.
