(CHN) Chart of accounts (modified form) [AX 2012]

Updated: August 16, 2012

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2

Click General ledger > Setup > Chart of accounts > Chart of accounts.

Use this form to create, manage, and view charts of accounts for your organization. The chart of accounts includes the main accounts that are used, and the rules that govern the combinations of main accounts and dimension values. The main accounts contain financial data about legal entity activities. Before you can use the chart of accounts, you must add an account structure to the chart of accounts. For information about what to consider when you create a chart of accounts, see About the chart of accounts.

To export the chart of accounts, dimension values, or exchange rates to the databases of subsidiaries or other legal entities that run on external databases, see Application integration.

You can also set up the chart of accounts in a hierarchical tree structure by creating multiple levels for the general ledger accounts. You must define the levels, length, and controls for the ledger accounts.

The controls that are described in this topic apply only to your country/region. For full documentation of this form, see the following topic or topics:
