You can create service tax codes for the service tax that your organization calculates and pays to the service tax authorities. Specify the percentage for the calculation of service tax in the Sales tax codes form.

  1. Click General ledger > Setup > Sales tax > Sales tax codes.

  2. Click New, and then, in the Sales tax code field, enter the code that identifies the service tax.

  3. Enter the sales tax code, and then select the jurisdiction code for the sales tax.

  4. On the General FastTab, select the currency in which the sales tax must be displayed and paid.

  5. Select the settlement period code, and then, in the Tax type field, select Service tax.

  6. Click Values. Then, in the Values form, in the From date and To date fields, enter the starting and ending dates for the period in which the service tax value is valid.

  7. Enter the minimum and maximum amounts against which this service tax can be calculated.

  8. In the Value field, enter the percentage or amount per unit for the service tax code. Then, in the Pct. exempt from sales tax field, enter the percentage of the value that is excluded from the service tax.
