Troubleshoot Anywhere Access in Windows Server Essentials

This topic provides general instructions for using the Repair Anywhere Access wizard in Windows Server 2012 Essentials to troubleshoot issues preventing network users from accessing server resources. Anywhere Access functionalities – Remote Web Access, virtual private network (VPN), and DirectAccess – enable network users to access server resources from any location with an Internet connection, at any time, from any device.
The Repair Anywhere Access wizard attempts to identify and repair issues with your router, domain name, or firewall that are preventing network users from remotely accessing server resources.

Log on to the server, and open the Dashboard.
Click Settings, and then click the Anywhere Access tab.
Click Repair. The Repair Anywhere Access wizard starts.
Click Next. The wizard analyzes Anywhere Access, identifies the issue, and then attempts to repair the issue.
If you receive an alert when the wizard finishes, you can click Retry to try to repair the issue again. If you continue to receive an alert, check the alert for additional information about the issue and troubleshooting steps.
In the top right corner of the Dashboard, click any error or warning icon to open the Alert Viewer.
In the Alert Viewer, click the error or warning to view additional information.
