Change the assigned resource (operations resources)(form) [AX 2012]

Click Production control > Periodic > Manufacturing execution > Edit job list. Select a production unit, and either a resource group in the Select a resource group field or a resource in the table. Depending on the selection, click either Open resource group or Open resource. In the Edit job list form, on the Action Pane, click Change assigned resource.

Use this form to assign a different operations resource to a job. For more information about operations resources, see Resources (operations resources)(form).

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.




Display only resources that are available on a selected date.

Resource group

Display only resources that belong to a selected resource group.




Open the Resources form, where you can view details about the selected resource.




The identifier of the resource.


The description of the resource.


The type of resource. Types of resources include the following:

  • Vendor – The resource is external, such as a vendor or subcontractor.

  • Human resources – The resource is one or more workers.

  • Machine – The resource is a machine that is used in production.

  • Tool – The resource is an instrument or device that can be considered a production tool.

  • Location – The resource is a physical location, such as an assembly area.

Resource group

The resource group that the resource belongs to. The resource group defines the site, production unit, and warehouse context for the selected resource.


The site where the resource is located.

Production unit

The production unit that the resource is assigned to.
