Tax code (Calculation tab)

Select the tax code to define the calculation expression for.

Taxable basis

Select the basis to calculate the tax from the following options:

  • Line amount – Calculate the tax amount based on the transaction line amount for the selected tax code.

  • Excl. line amount – Exclude the transaction line amount to calculate the tax amount for the selected tax code.

    NoteNote

This option is not available for a sales tax code of type TCS with a priority ID of 1.

  • Max. retail price – Calculate the tax amount based on the maximum retail price of the item line.

  • Assessable value – Calculate the tax amount based on the assessable value of the transaction.

Price incl. tax

Select this check box to indicate whether the taxable basis includes taxes. This check box is automatically selected if you selected Max. retail price for the Taxable basis field.

If you select this check box and you selected Assessable value in the Taxable basis field, the following conditions are true:

  • Taxes are calculated on the assessable value of the transaction. The use of the Price incl. tax check box has no effect on the calculation.

  • When you post a transaction, the accounting entries display the transaction amount in the Voucher transactions form.

Calculation expression

Enter a calculation expression for the tax code. Use the mathematical operator buttons, the tax codes listed in the Taxes table, and the charges codes listed in the Charges table to create a calculation expression. To add a charges code or a tax code to the expression, right-click the code and select either Add the tax code or Add misc. charges code.
