Click Fixed assets > Setup > Depreciation > Depreciation group.

Click Fixed assets > Setup > Value models. Click Depreciation groups.

Use this form to create depreciation groups for fixed assets. Depreciation groups are defined for fixed asset value models to specify asset details such as the depreciation profile, service life, and deferral parameters that are generated when depreciating a fixed asset.

If a fixed asset is registered after it is put into operation, depreciation is calculated from the first day of the month of registration. If a fixed asset is registered before it is put into operation, depreciation is calculated from the first day of the month after the fixed asset is put into operation.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Value model

Select the asset value model that the depreciation group is created for.

Depreciation group

Enter a code for the depreciation group.

Name

Enter the name of the depreciation group.

Depreciation method

Select a depreciation method to be used for the depreciation group.

Lifetime

Enter the maximum number of years of service, during which depreciation will accrue for the fixed assets in the depreciation group.

Year rate

The percentage by which the fixed asset depreciates each year.

NoteNote

This field is not available if you select the Tax nonlinear method of depreciation.

Minimal depreciation

Enter the minimum depreciation amount to be used with the Reducing remainder method.

Depreciation start date

Specify the method that is used to identify the starting date from which depreciation is calculated:

  • From month when put into operation – Depreciation is calculated from the first day of the month in which the fixed asset is put to use after acquisition.

  • Next month start – Depreciation is calculated from the following month.

  • Next quarter start – Depreciation is calculated from the following quarter.

  • Next half year start – Depreciation is calculated from the following half-year.

  • Next year start – Depreciation is calculated from the following year.

  • Date of the registration – Depreciation is calculated from the date of the registration of the asset.

Depreciation bonus

Enter the percentage of the bonus depreciation to be calculated.

NoteNote

This field is active only when Tax is selected in the Value model field.

Disposal

Indicate whether the fixed asset is to be disposed of after depreciation.

Partial dismantlement

Indicate whether part of the fixed asset is to be disposed of after depreciation.

Model number

Select the deferral model number.

Deferrals group

Select the identification of the deferrals group for deferred expenses.

Expense code

Select the deferrals expense code.
