(RUS) Increasing of the extended data types (form) [AX 2012]

Use this form to create an upgrade project that contains extended data types with increased string size.

  1. Click System administration > Setup > Checklists > AOD code upgrade checklist.

  2. In the AOD code upgrade checklist, ensure that all the previous checklist items are marked as complete, then click the Increase string size of extended data types task.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.



Select all

Select all of the displayed extended data types.

Unselect all

Clear all of the displayed extended data types.




When an extended data type is selected, its maximum string size will be modified during data upgrade.

EDT name

The name of the extended data type.

Layer (base line model)

The code layer containing the baseline model where the extended data type occurs.

String size(base line model)

The maximum string size of the extended data type as found in the baseline model layer.


The current working code layer. This is the layer undergoing code upgrade.

String size

The default maximum string size for the extended data type in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2.

String size recommended

The new maximum string size to apply to the extended data type.
