Batch balancing (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2

Click Production control > Common > Production orders > All production orders. Select a production order whose status is set to Started, and then click Batch balancing.

Use this form to select inventory batches for the active ingredients in the batch order formula. When you select an available inventory batch, the balanced quantity is calculated based on the active quantity of the active ingredient in the batch order formula.

Description

Balance batch ingredients

Calculate the new compensating and filler quantities that are required to balance the inventory batch based on formula specifications for the active ingredient. After the calculation runs, the quantity that is required to balance the batch is displayed in the Balanced quantity field.

Confirm formula

Confirm the batch order formula, and update it with the balanced quantities.

Batch selections

Open the Batch selections form, where you can select one or more inventory batches and specify the quantities to be consumed in production.

Inventory

Open a menu that contains the following items:

  • Dimensions display – Select the inventory dimensions for output batch orders.

  • Trace – Track inventory dimensions.

  • On-hand – View on-hand inventory, by dimension, for the selected raw material item.

  • Lot – Query receipt and issue transactions for the same lot number.

  • Transactions – View the inventory transactions for the selected item.

Description

Item number

The item ingredient number from the batch order production formula.

Ingredient type

The type of raw material ingredient from the formula line.

Estimated

The estimated quantity of the item to use in production.

Balanced quantity

The adjusted quantity that results from selecting active ingredient inventory batches.

Active quantity

The quantity of active ingredient required at 100-percent concentration.

Unit

The unit of measure of the item from the batch order formula.

Base value

The standard or target potency for the active ingredient.

Marked

Select this check box to indicate that the inventory batch is reserved.

Warehouse

The warehouse dimension for the selected inventory batch.

Batch number

The batch number dimension for the selected inventory batch.

Available physical

The available physical quantity that is not reserved from the physical inventory.

Physical reserved

The total quantity of the item that is physically reserved for the inventory dimension.

Active available

The quality of the active ingredient at 100-percent concentration.

Active reserved

The quantity of the active ingredient at 100-percent concentration that is reserved for the selected batch order.

Attribute value

The batch attribute value that defines the actual potency for the selected inventory batch.
