Integrating Service Management Portal and API with System Center 2012 SP1
Applies To: System Center 2012 SP1
For information about the integrations of the current versions of and Windows Azure Pack for Windows Server and Service Provider Foundation, see Understanding the Virtual Machine Clouds architecture.
You can integrate Windows Azure Services for the Windows Server VM Cloud with System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1). Hosting service providers who are using Windows Azure Pack for Windows Server and API as the private cloud portal for their customers can use the infrastructure and capabilities that System Center 2012 SP1 provides.
Service Provider Foundation provides the application programming interface (API) that enables the integration between the portal (and its API) and System Center 2012 SP1. Service Provider Foundation provides an API endpoint for administrative tasks (called the Admin service) and one for Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) interaction (called the VMM service). These services provide access to capabilities for administering tenants, user roles, and resources in Virtual Machine Manager. They also enable the aggregation of management controls across scale boundaries, for example, managing multiple VMM servers simultaneously as one big fabric.
