Running Setup from the Command Prompt

The SQL Server 2005 Setup program provides a command prompt interface in addition to the graphical user interface. Use command prompt syntax to customize the way Setup installs SQL Server 2005. Command prompt installations can be specified at the command prompt or in an .ini file.

Note

Remote Setup is not supported in this release. To install SQL Server 2005 on a remote computer, use a remote connection to run SQL Server Setup in user interface mode or from the command prompt. Record unattended (.iss) Setup is not supported in this release.
