How to: Synchronize a Subscription (SQL Server Management Studio)

In this topic, you will learn how to synchronize a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition (SQL Server Compact Edition) subscription from within SQL Server Management Studio.

To synchronize a SQL Server Compact Edition subscription

  1. In Management Studio, open Object Explorer.

  2. In Object Explorer, click Connect, and then choose SQL Server Compact Edition.

  3. In the Connect to Server dialog box, choose the SQL Server Compact Edition database that you want to synchronize, and then click Connect.

  4. In Object Explorer, expand the SQL Server Compact Edition database, expand Replication, and then expand Subscriptions.

  5. Right-click the subscription you want to synchronize and choose Synchronize Subscription.

  6. In the Synchronize Subscription dialog box, provide a password, if it is required. You can also choose to reinitialize the subscription. If you choose this option, you must choose to either save or discard subscriber changes.

  7. Click OK to start synchronization.
