Viewing Cubes in Cube Designer

Cube Designer has nine different tabs that you can use to view cubes, cube properties, and cube data. These tabs are described in the following table.

Tab Description

Cube Builder

Use this tab to work with the structure of a cube. Examine the data source view schema, view and work with measure groups and measures, and organize and configure cube dimensions and their hierarchies and attributes.

Dimension Usage

Use this tab to define relationships between cube dimensions and measure groups. Dimension usage settings determine aggregation of facts by dimensions in a cube.

Calculations

Use this tab to create calculated members, named sets, and create Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) scripts.

KPIs

Use this tab to create key performance indicators (KPIs) for the cube.

Actions

Use this tab to create standard actions, reporting actions, and drillthrough actions.

Partitions

Use this tab to create and configure partitions, writeback, and proactive caching.

Browser

Use this tab to debug and browse data in a processed cube.

Perspectives

Use this tab to create and configure perspectives for a cube.

Translations

Use this tab to add and edit translations of cube object captions in different languages.
