Replace Report

Use this page to replace the report definition of a published report with a report definition (.rdl) file located on the file system. The report definition contains the query and report layout instructions for processing and rendering a report. You can update just the report definition without affecting most settings on the published report.

After you update the report definition for the current report, you must reset data source connection settings. If the original report used stored credentials, you must provide those credentials again.

Settings that remain unchanged include general properties, history properties, execution properties, parameter properties, and security. In addition, any subscriptions, linked reports, or report history from the original report remain unchanged. If the updated report definition includes new or modified parameters, you should update subscriptions and linked reports to use the correct parameter values.
