Instance Properties (Applications)
Use to view and change properties of applications hosted by an instance of Microsoft SQL Server Notification Services.
Options
- Application
Select the application to view. The applications listed are the ones hosted by the current instance of Notification Services.
Components
Lists the hosted event providers, generator, and distributors for the selected application and displays properties for each of these components. The following table describes the columns in the Components grid.Column Description Enable
Select to enable a component of the application, or clear to disable a component of the application. The initial state of this box matches the current component state.
To disable the entire application, clear the Enabled box for each component, and then click OK.
Server
Displays the name of the server that hosts the component. In all editions except Microsoft SQL Server Standard Edition, applications can be distributed across multiple servers, and you can enable or disable components on individual servers.
Component
Displays the component type, which is one of the following: event provider, generator, distributor, and subscriptions. Subscribers are instance-wide and are listed on the Subscribers page.
Name
Displays the name of the component as specified in the ADF. This distinguishes between multiple event providers or distributors on the same server. Notification Services defines the names of distributors and the generator; you cannot name these items in the ADF.
Current Status
The current status of the component. Possible values are enabled, disabled, enabled pending, or disabled pending.
For descriptions of these status values, see Viewing the Status of Instances, Applications, and Components.
Note that the status will not change unless the instance is running.
