Register Instance (Encryption)

Use to provide a key for encrypting event provider and delivery channel argument values, which might contain passwords and other sensitive data, before storing them in the database.

Options

  • Argument key
Is a key used to encrypt parameter values for delivery channels and event providers. The key is a string of up to 2500 characters.

To use argument encryption, you must provide the same key when registering, creating, and updating the instance; this requires the EncryptArguments value in the configuration file to be true.

If you do not provide the same key when registering, creating, and updating the instance, the instance will not start.

If you do not provide an key when creating the instance, meaning that the EncryptArguments value in the ICF is false or the element is omitted, do not provide a key when registering the instance.
