SQL Server Import and Export Wizard F1 Help

Use the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard to copy and transform data between supported data sources and destinations. This section provides F1 Help for the dialog boxes that are available in the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard. The following table describes the topics in this section.

The purpose of the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard is to copy data from a source to a destination. The wizard can also create a destination database and destination tables for you. However, if you have to copy multiple databases or tables, or other kinds of database objects, you should use the Copy Database Wizard instead. For more information, see Using the Copy Database Wizard.

Start the wizard and opt to skip the welcome page if desired.

Choose a Data Source (SQL Server Import and Export Wizard)

Select a data source and specify required connection information.

Choose a Destination (SQL Server Import and Export Wizard)

Select a data destination and specify required connection information.

Create the destination database, when exporting to a new database.

Configure the parameters required to export to a flat file.
