Remarks

Updated text:5 December 2005

Updated sample code:5 December 2005

Each NotificationComputedField has a parent NotificationClass. You typically supply the parent object when you create the NotificationComputedField using the NotificationComputedField(NotificationClass,String) constructor.

If you set the parent in the constructor, do not set the parent using this property. Setting the parent twice throws an exception.

Example

The following examples show how to set the Parent property when using the default constructor:

NotificationComputedField computedPrice =
    new NotificationComputedField();
computedPrice.Name = "FormattedPrice";
computedPrice.Parent = flightNotifications;
computedPrice.DigestGrouping = false;
computedPrice.SqlExpression = "CONVERT(NVARCHAR(10), Price, 1)";
flightNotifications.NotificationComputedFields.Add(computedPrice);
Dim computedPrice As NotificationComputedField = _
    New NotificationComputedField()
computedPrice.Name = "FormattedPrice"
computedPrice.Parent = flightNotifications
computedPrice.DigestGrouping = False
computedPrice.SqlExpression = "CONVERT(NVARCHAR(10), Price, 1)"
flightNotifications.NotificationComputedFields.Add(computedPrice)
