How to: Add a Database Level Metadata Translation

In Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services (SSAS), you can add a database-level metadata translation to a database by using the following procedure.

Procedure

To add a database-level metadata translation

  1. Open the Analysis Services project or connect directly to the Analysis Services database.

  2. In Solution Explorer, right-click the Analysis Services project and click Edit Database.

  3. In the Translations box in Database Designer, select a language in the Language drop-down list box.

  4. In the Translated Caption text box, type a translation for the database name.

  5. In the Translated Description text box, type a translation for the database description.

  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for each additional language for which you want to provide translations.
