This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

To use the User Information Web service client, open a Web browser and navigate to "http://servername/UserInfoClient/UserInfoClient.aspx", where servername is the name of the server on which it was set up.

The following illustration shows the User Information Web service client.

The screen shot shows example values in the User E-mail Address, Start Time, End Time, and Interval fields of the User Information Web service client.

To obtain a user's contact and free/busy information

  1. In the User E-mail Address field, type the full e-mail address of a user who is in the domain which the computer running Microsoft® Exchange Server 2003 is a member of. For example, you might type user@domain.fourthcoffee.com.
  2. In the Start Time field, type the start date and the start time of the period during which you want to check the user's free/busy status. For example, you might type 2/12/2002 12:00:00.
  3. In the End Time field, type the end date and the end time of the period during which you want to check the user's free/busy status. For example, you might type 2/12/2002 15:00:00.
  4. In the Interval field, type the number of minutes that you want to separate each report about the user's free/busy status. For example, you might type 30.
  5. Click the Get User Info button. The User Information Web service client then finds and communicates with the Web service on the Exchange server that owns the mailbox of the specified user. The Web service then returns an XML string containing the user's contact and free/busy status for the specified time interval, which is displayed to the user by the Microsoft ASP.NET page.
