Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol support in SharePoint 2010

**Summary:**This article describes the versions of the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol that SharePoint 2010 Products supports.

Supported TLS and SSL Protocols

SharePoint 2010 supports the following versions of the TLS and SSL protocols:

  • TLS 1.2

  • TLS 1.1

  • TLS 1.0

  • SSL 3.0

Disabling SSL and TLS Protocols

At least one of the following versions of the SSL/TLS protocol must remain enabled:

  • TLS 1.2

  • TLS 1.1

  • TLS 1.0

  • SSL 3.0

Note

We recommend completely disabling the SSL 3.0 protocol due to its security vulnerability..
