How do I connect my server to my network?

You must use a wired connection to connect your server to your network. Connect a network cable to your server, and then connect the other end of the network cable to a switch or router. Use another network cable to connect the switch or router to the broadband access device that connects to the Internet. For information about how to connect your broadband access device to the Internet, see the information provided by your Internet service provider (ISP).

Plug your server in to an electrical outlet. Ensure that your switch or router and the broadband access device are powered on and working properly.

For information about setting up your router, see How should I set up my router?.
