Allow or restrict access to a media library on the server

The server administrator can allow or restrict user access to a media library.

This procedure allows or restricts user access to the Media library when a user accesses the library by using any of the following devices or applications:

  • Media devices in the same network

  • Media Center Extenders

  • Remote Web Access Media gadget

To allow or restrict user access to a Media Library

  1. Sign in to the server Dashboard, and then click the Server Folders tab.

  2. Open the Server Folders and Hard Drives page, and then click the Server Folders tab.

  3. Right-click the folder of the media library that you want to change, and then click View the folder properties.

  4. In the <Folder> Properties dialog box, click the Sharing tab.

  5. For each user, select the level of access that you want to grant to the user. For information about the different levels of access, see What level of access to shared folders should I allow?.

  6. Click Apply or OK to save your changes.
