Infrastructure Qualification Process

The Infrastructure Interoperability Program qualifies partner developed and designed telephony infrastructure devices such as SIP-PSTN gateways, survivable branch appliances, session border controllers, reverse proxy servers, and IP-PBXs for interoperability with Skype for Business. With the launch of Skype for Business, solutions will no longer be qualified for Lync Server.

Partners interested in qualifying infrastructure devices for "Certified for Skype for Business" program must have:

  • A proven record of developing and marketing enterprise grade and industry leading communications products
  • Evidence of ability to achieve the technical requirements of the program.
  • Established global enterprise sales channels
  • TSANet membership for product support.
  • Microsoft Partner Program membership

Partners meeting these criteria can email SBSInfra@microsoft.com for more information.

The partner must follow these steps to submit a device for qualification to the Infrastructure Interoperability Program.

  • Meet the above criteria and be invited into the partner program.
  • Complete any necessary agreements
  • Download test specifications & perform internal testing
  • Conducted testing for candidate device at an approved independent test lab: TekVizion or WIPRO
  • Obtain final approval from Skype for Business Infrastructure team

Upon completion of the testing, the partner must provide the following materials:

  • Dedicated website for Skype for Business supported products, including support, ordering, and technical documentation
  • Quick start guide for configuration steps for Skype for Business Server

To learn more about the requirements and process for the Infrastructure Interoperability Program please review the Infrastructure Interoperability Program overview.
